Project Overview

Detailed description of our project goals and methodology

Recognizing the importance of education for success, Mai Aisha Trust, with the support of Drop Of Compassion donors, constructed Mulimba Primary School. The school, located in Mtwala village (Masuku), Traditional Authority Bwananyambi, Mangochi, was officially opened on September 11, 2023. The facilities include two classroom blocks with four fully furnished classrooms, boreholes for clean water, and separate toilets for staff and students. Initially offering classes for Standards 1 and 2, the school is staffed by three teachers from the Ministry of Education and four volunteer teachers, serving a student body of 3,205 pupils.

Challenges We Addressed

The problems our community faced before intervention

  • Children were walking a long distance, which led to an increase of school dropouts.
  • It was difficult for children to participate well in class since they were reaching the school already tired because of the long distance.

Our Solutions & Approach

Strategic interventions and methodologies implemented

  • Constructed a new primary school with equipped classrooms, boreholes, and toilet facilities within the community.

Results & Impact

Measurable outcomes and lasting community benefits

  • There has been a decrease in the number of school dropouts since children will not be walking a long distance.
  • Children can now participate well in class since they will be in class at the right time.
