In October 2018, Mai Aisha Trust drilled a borehole at Ntcheu Secondary School in Gumbu village, T/A Kwaitane, Ntcheu District. The borehole was funded by our UK partner Drop of Compassion (DOC) and will benefit over 3,000 people.
Before the borehole, students and community members used unsafe water for drinking and washing and had to travel long distances to find safe water.
With the new borehole, the community now has safe water nearby, reducing waterborne diseases.
