MAT Reaches Over 100 Families with Food Aid

On September 23, 2023, Mai Aisha Trust, with support from One National donors, distributed food packs to 178 families from Katuli village in Mangochi. Each food pack contained:

  • 20kg cream of maize
  • 2kg sugar
  • 2 liters cooking oil
  • 2kg salt
  • 10 packets of soya pieces

This distribution was organized in response to the current hunger period, as most farmers lost their crops due to the effects of Cyclone Freddy, which occurred in February of this year.

Objective for Food Distribution

The primary objective of this food distribution was to provide food assistance to families affected by Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

By providing this food aid, we aim to help communities rebuild their livelihoods. The recurrence of cyclones and floods makes recovery increasingly difficult, and our intervention provides critical support during this challenging time.
