Neither their meat nor blood reaches Allah. Rather, it is your piety that reaches Him. This is how He has subjected them to you so that you may proclaim the greatness of Allah for what He has guided you to, and give good news to the good-doers. Surah 22. Al-Hajj
On the sacred occasion of Qurbani May, 2026, Mai Aisha Trust—in close collaboration with an incredible network of international and individual partners—successfully executed a massive livestock distribution initiative to provide fresh meat to vulnerable communities across Malawi.
A total of 7,498 goats and 81 cows were selected, ethically sacrificed, and packaged for meat distribution across several designated districts and rural hubs. This initiative ensured that thousands of families could celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with dignity, nutrition, and joy.
Strategic Distribution Footprint
To maximize impact and reach those most in need, distributions were meticulously tracked across regional hubs. The fresh meat reached families across:
- Chiseko, Mulanje & Chiseko, Maganga (Multiple Cohorts)
- Nyamazani / Maganga
- Ngabu / Blantyre / Balaka Corridor
- Zomba District
- Amani & Ngala Areas in Mangochi
Direct Nutritional & Community Impact
During festive seasons like Qurbani, many vulnerable households in rural areas face extreme financial barriers to accessing quality meat. By distributing fresh meat from 7,498 goats and 81 cows, this project provided immediate high-quality protein and relief to 32,422 families battling food insecurity . Beyond nutritional support, sharing meat on Qurbani fosters deep social cohesion, communal joy, and a collective sense of belonging among the rural population.
“The sheer scale of this distribution ensures that entire villages are being supported together, reinforcing community resilience and bringing the true spirit of sacrifice and sharing to life.”
