Every year during the Lunar month of Dhul Hijjah Muslims around the world slaughter animal (cow, goat sheep or camel) to reflect the Prophert Ibrahim’s (AS) eagerness to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) for the sake of God. After slaughtering of animals the meat is distributed to family and friends.
In such a way this year from 29th June to 1st July 2023 Mai Aisha Trust with the support of various donors such as One Ummah Charitable Organisation, Drop Of Compassion, World Care Foundation, Akhrah Team, Crisis Aid, Serving the Creation, Walayat and Hasene slaughtered 3192 goats and 25 Cows which was distributed to 9576 and it benefited over 57426 people. This project benefited people from Chikwawa, Nsanje, Salima Zomba, Mangochi and Balaka.
Objectives for this Meat distribution were:
- To assist less privilege people who find it hard to buy meat.
- To express love to Muslims or Non-Muslims as Muslims believe in giving.
