Mai Aisha Trust Construct two Irrigation Schemes in Mangochi and Blantyre

In 2017, Mai Aisha Trust constructed two irrigation schemes in Mangochi and Blantyre with funding from Drop of Compassion (DoC), a UK based charity.

The irrigation schemes are Titukulane and M’bawa respectively.  M’bawa has 15 direct and over 200 indirect beneficiaries whilst Titukulane has 18 direct and over 250 indirect beneficiaries.

M’bawa Irrigation Scheme

M’bawa irrigation scheme covers an area of 1 hectare and have 15 direct and over 200 indirect beneficiaries.

The scheme comprises of 15 farmers ( 5 women and 10 men). Currently, vegetables are been grown due to availability of water supply after all pipiline installations were completed. 

Titukulane Irrigation Scheme

Titukulane has an area of 1 hectare and is comprised of 18 farmers( 11 women and 7 men). The farmers have already started growing crops such as maize, vegetables and sweet potatoes in the scheme.
