Project Overview
Detailed description of our project goals and methodology
In 2018, Mai Aisha Trust constructed the Pachibale Irrigation Scheme in Mangochi with funding from Peace and Relief International Trust. This scheme serves 30 farmers, including 8 males and 22 females, and supports over 300 indirect beneficiaries. A key feature of this project is its shared infrastructure, as it uses the same water intake and river as the neighboring Nakawale Irrigation Scheme, demonstrating efficient resource management. This development has significantly increased agricultural productivity on irrigated land, enabling multiple cropping cycles and reducing instability in output levels for the well-organized farming community.
