Project Overview

Detailed description of our project goals and methodology

The Mpata Irrigation Scheme was implemented by Mai Aisha Trust with funding from Peace Giving International and was completed in December 2019. Located in Mbere village, Traditional Authority Bwananyambi, Mangochi district, the project serves 30 farmers, including 11 men and 19 women. By introducing a motorized irrigation system, the scheme replaced the inefficient and environmentally damaging use of earth canals. This upgrade allows farmers to cultivate larger plots of land for growing vegetables, tomatoes, and maize, leading to higher yields and improved livelihoods.
