Project Overview

Detailed description of our project goals and methodology

The Madimba Irrigation Scheme project was implemented by Mai Aisha Trust with funding from the Ummah Foundation. Located in Nombo village, Traditional Authority Jalasi, in the Mangochi district, the three-hectare scheme was completed in September 2019. The project supports 20 farming families, consisting of 8 men and 12 women, who now cultivate a variety of crops including vegetables, maize, and tomatoes. The introduction of concrete canals and improved irrigation has enhanced the socio-economic status of the farmers and improved food security in the community.
