Mgwirizano Irrigation Scheme

Mgwirizano Irrigation Scheme was also implemented by Mai Aisha Trust by Peace Giving International. The scheme is in Mangochi District in Ntundu village GHV Ntundu T/A Bwananyambi. The scheme has 20 farmers (13 males & 7 females) and they use motorized irrigation system now. Crops as tomatoes, vegetables & maize are grown.

Problems Faced Before the Implementation of Scheme

1. They were harvesting low yield hence low income.
2. They were using earth canals which promotes soil erosion.

How Things Have Changed With the Support of Peace Giving International

1. Large land is used to cultivate crops hence high yield and income enhancement.
2. The use of motorized irrigation system minimizes the cause of soil erosion.
