Bee Keeping
The purpose of introducing Bee keeping project is to sustainably generate income and ensure proper management of the forest hence, creating economic independence among the rural communities. This project is implemented and collaboration with the Ministry of Forest and Natural Resources who provides some technical support through capacity building.
This project is supported by Drop of Compassion (DOC) and the district which is taking place is Mangochi (namwala, namaning’a, nsomba, mikundi) so far it has 50 direct farmers.
Benefits
- Improve living condition (the money that is realized after the harvesting of bee is used to build farmers houses & pay their children school fees.)
- Honey act as part of medicine to different diseases.
